Well, I thought I would start with the signing of Wade Dubielewicz in this news byte. Dubielewicz returns to the Islanders after being let go in Russia and signed a 1-year deal (to the end of this season) for a pro-rated amount of $500,000 annually. He won't be in the line-up for the Islanders tonight against Boston, but he should be ready to join the club for the weekend. I'm sure the Islanders would prefer having a bit more veteran savvy in the net for a game against the Bruins, but it will be Yann Danis in net tonight.
The return of Dubielewicz also comes with news that Joey MacDonald will now be sidelined for up to four weeks with his groin issue. MacDonald, a Waiver Draft pick-up of Peter's, suffered the injury this week and the news just seemed to get worse for the goaltender.
The news on Rick DiPietro is that he has gone to see another knee specialist, or the same one, it's hard to tell some days, about why his surgically repaired knee is not responding the way it should. The worry about his knee has esclated and there is a great chance that he will be shut down for the rest of the year to ensure that he will be 100% for next season. Get rid of him, if you can... if you haven't already.
