It truly looks like Martin Gerber and his days in Ottawa have come to an end. Gerber was placed on waivers on Thursday and he and the remainder of his $3.7 million cap hit cleared waivers on Friday, leaving the Senators only a couple of options. Since he comes with a hefty contract, there won't be many teams who would deal for him, especially if they didn't pick him up without giving up anything. The Sens may also make a ploy to loan him to a European team, so they can be rid of his cap hit, thus opening up some space to make room for a good player.
