Reports on Thursday night were suggesting that Wild forward, Marian Gaborik may be looking towards season-ending surgery on his hip, in order to cure a condition that may haven been leading to most of his groin troubles in his career. The Box 1 forward and Waiver Draft drop has had many groin injuries in his relatively short career, which has kept the natural sniper out of the Wild's line-up more than it has allowed him to play. If he goes through with the surgery, Gaborik will need a fair bit of time to recover, but his recovery should allow him to play pain-free for quite some time. The decision on the surgery should come sooner, rather than later reports the St. Paul Press in Minnesota.
Gaborik has only managed to play in 6 games for Minnesota this season, picking up 5 points (3G, 2A) in the process. He was a Waiver Draft drop by Dale B. after going down with a groin injury early in the year and not being able to return for the longest time.
There is now a lot of speculation and wonder about Gaborik's future with the club, as he is in the final year of his current deal and is set to become an unrestricted free agent. He has already been in the centre of many trade rumours through the year and now any team that will pick him up will taking a chance on the Slovak's unreliable health record. If a trade does happen for Gaborik, it will only be to be the first in line to sign him to a new deal, in where there is no guarantees that it will work out for his new team at all. It's time to wait and see in the Gaborik soap opera now, maybe something big will happen!
