A crunching hit in last night's game against the Lightning has left the Kings' number two pick in 2008's health in question for the time being. Drew Doughty was hit hard by Tampa's Evgeni Artyuhkin on Monday night and had to leave the game with a leg injury. The initial reports is that the injury is just a bruise, but wouldn't elaborate on the severity of the contusion.
Doughty, a Draft pick of Peter's, has been a defensive rock for the Kings this year and has been able to tally a few times as well. In 42 games this season, Doughty has 3 goals and 9 assists, currently ranking him 357th in pool scoring. For the Kings, at least, he has lived up to his billing as the second best player in the Draft, if he couldn't be considered the best player taken.
