There were some rumblings at the end of December into early January that Pascal Leclaire's season could be over, thanks to his current ankle injury. Today, the team announced that Leclaire will undergo surgery to repair his ankle and it will keep him out of the line-up for 10-12 weeks, which is roughly the amount of time remaining in the regular season. This news was expected more after the team acquired Wade Dubielewicz off the waiver wire from Long Island last week.
Leclaire, a Draft pick of Derek's, has only appeared in 12 games for the Blue Jackets this season, coming nowhere near his amazing numbers he posted last season, including finishing second in the league with 9 shutouts. Look for Derek to drop Leclaire in the first round of the second Waiver Draft.
