We're not long away from the start of action on Hockey Day in Canada, but it's the American starts that are early. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia get started at 11am MT and I'll be updating the Draft all day, while watching the games on TV. How exciting!
Speaking of the Draft, we are getting set for another record week, heading into Saturday's action. Last week, we saw a record week of 521 points earned and this week, we've already seen 353 points with 18 games to go on both Saturday and Sunday. I'm hoping for a high scoring weekend, that way the Draft gets a little more exciting.
More records set to be broken include the weekly high, as John B. heads into the weekend with 32 points, climbing ever closer to the weekly record of 44 points, set twice by Larry and Benson. I am expecting this record to fall this week.
Sadly, we don't have any big players this week, just a lot of players scoring more consistently among all the teams. Our weekly leaders in the Draft include Cristobel Huet and Anze Kopitar, who both have 6 points each heading into the weekend. A shutout for Huet could boost him to 10 points in the week, which would be mighty impressive. We also have seven players who go into the weekend with 5 points each.
Well, it's time to get the Penguins/Flyers game underway... Happy Hockey Day!
