It looks as though Samuel Pahlsson will be out of the Ducks' line-up for another couple weeks, as the original illness thought to be bugging him seems to be a viral infection and it's really taken a lot out of him. The Box 7 forward shouldn't be active on anyone's team, as he really isn't an offensive force to begin with. I think the lack of depth was the reason why he made it onto the Ducks list on the Sheet.
The Flyers will welcome the return of Ryan Parent to their line-up after he was called up today from his conditioning assignment in the AHL following a long-term injury. Parent has finally made the jump to the big time this season, but all those hopes had to be put on hold early on this year, when he went down with his injury. Now the Box 30 defender will get to show his stuff with the Flyers on a full-time basis.
After an optional practice today, the Penguins announced that Miroslav Satan will not be going ahead with playing tonight against the Lightning, but the nature of the injury or reason was not disclosed. Satan had to participate in the optional practice, only one of five player to do so, and it was concluded that he will not be ready to go tonight. Satan is a member of Larry's Draft team this season and was looked upon to bring some scoring depth to his team.
The injury news in St. Louis isn't getting much better, as David Backes was another player to go down with injury, his happening in his leg. Backes has been having a decent season in Box 6 on the Sheet, having 28 points in 50 games with the Blues, but that will all likely be on hold until his leg injury is looked after. Consider him day-to-day.
The Capitals also lost a player on Tuesday night, Viktor Kozlov left Tuesday's game with a lower body injury, likely a groin tweak. At this point in the season, there should be no rush to see him back in the line-up, as they would want to go into the playoffs with a 100% healthy roster. Kozlov, a member of Box 19, should be considered day-to-day though.
