The Stars decided to give Tobias Stephan some ice-time as Marty Turco has taken the reins in Dallas and put together a large number of consecutive starts. Stephan is going down strictly for conditioning purposes and should be back up with the team in about a week or so. In his place, the long lost Brent Krahn finally makes his way to the NHL, as a Star, instead of a Flame, the team who drafted him in 2000.
Returning to the line-up from a broken arm, Mathieu Dandenault was not quite ready to jump back on the ice after being activated from the Injured Reserve, so he sat out last night in Montreal's game against the Sabres. Dandenault should be ready to go against the Leafs and jump into the line-up. Dandenault hasn't been an offensive force though this season, as he only has 2 assists this season.
The Rangers decided to scratch a relatively new face in the press box when they got wiped up by the Stars, as Paul Mara joined Petr Prucha in the press box for the game last night. Mara, a Box 29 defenseman, only has 15 points this season and might need a bit of a jump start to get his production up.
Now that Chris Clark has been placed on the Long-Term Injured Reserve, the Capitals have enough cap space to bring up Karl Alzner from the minors for the rest of the season. Alzner has been good enough to play with the big boys defensively, which is an element that the Capitals need in their game, but he hasn't been a huge offensive performer is his stints this season, only registering 4 points.
