Goalie Announcements (Nov 12)
Well, believe it or not, Jeff Zatkoff had to make three saves last night for Allan, as Marc-Andre Fleury came out of the game between the Penguins and Canadiens last night, after taking a stick to the face, which came through his mask, fixing some repairs, ever so briefly. Fleury did come back in the game and earn the win in the shootout, so Zatkoff was out of luck for the win.
Five teams need wins, there are 12 games on the schedule tonight, 24 goalies playing and only four of those goalies belong to teams that need wins and one team has two of those goalies. How fair is that?
Both of those goalies are in different games, playing at the same time, as Stuart will have Corey Crawford going for the Blackhawks, at home to the Devils, while Ondrej Pavelec gets the start for the Jets, away to the Stars tonight. Of course, he has the best shot at moving on to Week Seven with two opportunities.
Jeremy has one goalie going tonight, as Braden Holtby and the Capitals are in Philadelphia to take on the Flyers.
Finally, Ben Bishop has been given the nod for the Lightning, as they play host to the Flames tonight at home, giving Allan his shot at a win this week.
Mike & Stacey M. will each have goalies backing up tonight, which doesn't necessarily take them out of the conversation, but their goalies will typically get to play when the starter gets shelled and it's nearly impossible to win anyways, but if the starter gets injured... well, that's another story.
