Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Nov 19)
Alexandre Burrows returned for the Canucks last night in Winnipeg, but coming out of the lineup was Radim Vrbata, who was dealing with an apparent groin injury. He is currently listed as being out day-to-day and his availability for Saturday night's game, hosting the Blackhawks, is still up in the air. We'll probably hear more about the injury, as we draw closer to the weekend.
For John P., Vrbata hasn't been nearly as productive as he was for the Canucks last season, which is a bit of a downer, for sure. His 6th round pick has the value of about a 9th rounder, as his 8 points this season isn't impressive at all.
It sounds like Teuvo Teravainen had to leave last night's game between the Blackhawks and the Oilers, as the Finnish forward suffered an upper-body injury in the game, not allowing him to return later on in the contest. After the game, the coaching staff were quick to point out that they don't believe that the injury is serious, but there was no mention of how much time he'll miss, if any. We'll wait for an update, but he'll be considered day-to-day if there is no update and he misses a game this weekend.
Eric's team has been hot of late and Teravainen has been one of those players helping his team along, becoming one of the better picks of the 11th round in the process. His 9 points have been good, so far this year, already 75 places better in the pool scoring rankings than where he was drafted, moving up a few rounds. Good thing his injury isn't serious.
