Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Nov 17)

Vancouver Canucks forward Alexandre Burrows had some pretty good timing for the birth of a new addition to his family, as the team was passing through Quebec, his home province, he was able to be home for the arrival of his new bundle of joy.  He was excused from playing in Monday night's game against Montreal and should be back in the lineup for Wednesday night's game against Winnipeg on Wednesday night.

Burrows has been a pretty good pick for Stacey C., having 9 points in his first 18 games.  Stacey managed to pick the pesky forward in the 13th round, 339th overall, and he now ranks 187th in pool scoring, becoming one of the better bargain picks this season.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are not showing their cards over the injuries to forwards Tyler Johnson and Jonathan Drouin, who each missed Monday's game against Florida.  All the team would suggest is that Johnson's injury wasn't concussion related and Drouin's injury wasn't related to his lower-body injury that he was dealing with earlier in the year.  For now, both players will be on the list as out day-to-day with undisclosed injuries and we'll hope that more comes of the news later... or they just return to action.

The Tampa collective has largely been a disappointment in the draft, as every player taken has their scoring ranking below where they were picked in the draft, Johnson and Drouin, no exception.  Neil took Johnson in the 3rd round, while Allan took Drouin in the 6th, neither are where they should be this season.  These injuries will certainly compound the problem.
