Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Nov 14)

An upper-body injury was the reported reason for Brandon Dubinsky's absence in the Columbus lineup, Friday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Blue Jackets forward was a late scratch, it would seem, as we didn't see anything leading up to the game beforehand, and now his availability for Saturday night's game against Arizona is also in question. There hasn't been much reported about how the injury came about or its nature, so we're saying day-to-day, because that's all we really have to go on.

The Montreal Canadiens announced early on Saturday, that forward Alexander Semin will be back in their lineup, after being a healthy scratch for a long stretch.  Semin last played a game, October 27th against the Canucks, having only played in 10 games, scoring 1 goal and 2 assists.  The Habs took a small flyer on Semin and his ability, so scratching him at $1 million doesn't seem quite as bad as scratching him, back in the days when he wasn't doing anything and being paid $7 million.

For Dale C., he sees one player go out in Dubinsky and one come back in, as Semin returns, so it's almost a wash, assuming that Semiin could score as much as Dubinsky upon his return, a 0.69 points-per-game pace.  Dale's team has dropped off a little this week, falling from 12th to 16th, now 23 points out of the money.
