Another Update to the List of Available Players

Last week, we had a quick update about some of the available players for the Draft and since we're entering Week Six, we've only got a couple more weeks of action before we get to make our switches. Since I have some time, I thought I would highlight a few more players, just in case you were looking right now. I know there have been a few more injuries and some more consideration will likely need to take place. You're going to want one of those jerseys, right? Then let's talk players...

We'll start from the goalies and work ourselves out again. Last week, we talked both Craig Anderson and Jaroslav Halak, who continue to lead the available goalies list, but I think you may also want to keep an eye on Ondrej Pavelec of the Thrashers, who is getting some good minutes with the Thrashers and playing some good hockey. He sits behind Halak by only a win (2 points), so he should be an attractive goalie. Pavelec is going to make it difficult for Kari Lehtonen to take his number one job back.

From the blueline, the leaders remained the same in both Michael Del Zotto of the Rangers and Matt Carle of the Flyers, but holding the number three position is another rookie defenseman, Jason Demers in San Jose. Demers cracked the Sharks line-up out of training camp and has not disappointed yet. In all honesty, he really didn't register too much in the radar and it doesn't look like he blipped on many other teams radar as well, as he's been free to register 10 points in the first 15 games of the season. It could be a good time to pick up on a sleeper defenseman in Demers now, since he's got free reign at the moment.

There was a jump in the forward ranks, as Wojtek Wolski of the Avalanche had a good week in Week Five, moving himself up to third in the available forwards list. He's now scored eight goals and five assists in 13 games for the Avalanche, now sitting behind the same two atop the list last week, Dustin Penner and James Neal. Wolski had a trio of goals in the week, making him a good candidate for your team, especially if you're getting nothing from another forward.

Names to also consider for the Waiver Draft, include James Van Riemsdyk of the Flyers, Eric Belanger of the Wild, Jonathan Ericsson of the Red Wings and Stephane Robidas of the Stars.
