The Winnipeg Jets are saying that forward Bryan Little is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury, after he was on the wrong end of an inadvertent leg-on-leg, maybe knee-on-knee collision with Carolina's Bryan Bickell on Thursday night. Although Bickell is known as a player that plays close to the line of between clean and dirty, it would be pretty hard to say that this was an intentional play that hurt Little, but the consequences do appear to be severe for the Jets forward.
The team has said that this injury will be a longer-term injury, which leads us to believe that it could very well be a knee issue, but we can't say that it is confirmed to be the case, nor do we really have a clue, as to how long he will be out.
The 28-year old forward has not been put on the Injured Reserve just yet, but you would imagine that the move will be on its way shortly. Little missed Saturday night's contest in Minnesota and will continue to miss time for the foreseeable future.
Grant was getting off to a blazing start, opening up Sunday's action in 4th place, tied for 2nd, but losing on the tie-breakers, early on in Week One. Little did pick up a point in the game against Carolina, but that will be it for a while, Grant will need help from the rest of his team, until Little can return.
This injury may have cost Little even further, as this will be the third straight season that he has suffered a significant injury, upper-body injury in 2015 cost him 11 games, upper-body injury last season cost him 25 games and now we're looking at a long-term injury... this is grounds for placement on the Injury Prone List.
