The Carolina Hurricanes will be without the services of defenseman Ryan Murphy for the next 3-to-4 weeks, thanks to a lower-body injury. Murphy was one of the few Hurricane defenders that didn't make the pool worthy status from last season, but he was certainly a fringe consideration for a deep draft spot this year. Nevertheless, someone probably has him on their list as a sleeper and he'll be unable to participate for the first few weeks of the season, those people should be aware of that.
The interesting question will be, 'who will fill in for him?' Haydn Fleury, Roland McKeown and Tyler Ganly are still in camp vying for a couple spots now and it will be their time to shine, indeed.
