The San Jose Sharks have apparently chosen their back-up goalie to start the 2017 season, as Troy Grosenick was one of two players to be reassigned on Tuesday, leaving Aaron Dell to have the job behind Martin Jones. Jones is likely to get the bulk of the work in coming season, but one would have to think that Dell would be getting a solid portion of work, especially since the season schedule is down to 26 weeks, from the usual 27. That would mean that there will be a couple more busier weeks in the season, allowing for back-ups to eat up some more minutes, in theory.
Adjust your projections accordingly.
