We're not sure what is going around the league to start the year, but it definitely seems like a harsh bout of the flu. Jiri Hudler is the next player to be struck with this monster illness, as he was put on the Injured Reserve, retroactive to earlier in the week, as he doesn't appear to be ready to return, but the Stars also needed a roster spot for the return of non-pool forward, Ales Hemsky. I have his date set at the 18th, but it is hard to say when the Stars filed the retroactive placement to, but they play again next Tuesday, which we'll see if Hudler is activated for.
When I had said earlier in the week, this isn't the time to panic for Jeremy, that may not have been the case, as this is a week off situation for his player, Hudler. Jeremy's team opens the weekend in 17th place, 11 points back of 1st and 9 points back in the Mover & Shaker conversation this week.
The Anaheim Ducks have made a few roster swaps with their AHL affiliate in San Diego on Saturday morning/afternoon and included in those players coming up from the minors was defenseman Shea Theodore, who was taken in this year's draft. Theodore was joined by forwards Joseph Cramarossa and Michael Sgarbossa, while forwards Mason Raymond and Nick Sorensen and defenseman Jacob Larsson head the other way.
This was the day that Tony was hoping for, ever since he found out that Theodore wasn't in the active roster for the Ducks, after the draft had concluded. Theodore will likely be in the lineup on Sunday, when the Ducks host the Canucks for Sportsnet's Hometown Hockey.
