Morning Player Notes in the Draft (Jan 24)

Boston forward Brett Connolly has seemingly drawn the ire of the coaching staff, as he was a healthy scratch for the Bruins, when they took on the Blue Jackets on Saturday evening.  This isn't the first time he has been scratched this year, but he's still not even close to living up to the billing of his high entry draft pick, way back in 2010.  In 44 games this year, he only has 15 points, ranking 306th overall in scoring, after Saturday night.

Unfortunately for Mike, Connolly is the second biggest dud pick in the Week Nine Waiver Draft this year, as he dropped Mikael Backlund of the Flames to pick up the Bruins forward and he has lost out on 10 more points on this move.  Somehow, there is a good chance that Connolly might be moved again.

An ugly spill this week forced Chris Kunitz out of the Pittsburgh lineup on Saturday afternoon, when they took on the Canucks. Kunitz is now dealing with a lower-body injury, which doesn't sound too serious, given that there was a slight chance that he could have dressed yesterday, but the team opted to keep him out and he's now on the list as out day-to-day.

He is definitely one of those players that Pittsburgh was counting on for more offense and when they didn't get it, the team slumped pretty bad... as did John R.'s pool team, which hasn't quire recovered either.  John's team is in jeopardy of falling back into 27th place and possibly getting 1st pick in the next Waiver Draft.
