Noon Player Notes in the Draft (Jan 14)

It appears that the long awaited second appearance of the Sabres number one goalie is just around the corner, as Robin Lehner has been activated from a conditioning stint in Rochester of the AHL and he is now ready to re-join the Sabres on a regular capacity.  This means that Linus Ullmark is now on his way down to the AHL, as he is the third string goalie and will now get his reps with the minor league team.

Ullmark was a Waiver Draft pick of Stacey C.'s, taken in the 2nd round for Anton Khudobin of the Ducks, who is also in the minors at this point.  Stacey was able to collect 6 points from Ullmark, in his time since being activated, so it wasn't a complete loss, but there won't be much going forward.  Stacey's team currently ranks 19th, 41 points out of the money and now down to one goalie.

Missed yesterday in the fuss of a busy workday, was the waiver claim that the Arizona Coyotes placed on defenseman Kevin Connauton, giving him new life in the 2016 season.  Connauton was claimed from the Columbus Blue Jackets, who were making some roster adjustments after some other transactions earlier in the month, sending the defender down to the minors, if he wasn't claimed.  The 25-year old had been a fairly regular scratch for the Jackets this season, so this move was somewhat of a no-brainer for the Jackets.

We're not quite sure where he is going to fit with the Coyotes, but the chance to play more is a good thing for Wes this year, as Connauton is a big body, that finds his way to the penalty box on a semi-regular basis.  Connauton has 1 goal, 8 points and 21 PIM in 27 games this season.
