Race to the Sin Bin (Jan 8)

It's been Stuart's week to try and move up the standings in the PIM pool this week, as his 22 minutes have been the best so far.  He can thank Joe Thornton of the Sharks for that honour, thus far, as his 14 minutes on Thursday night bumped Stuart into 6th place in the PIM pool standings.

Tonight, Stuart's best chance for PIM will be Columbus' Boone Jenner, who has 36 minutes so far this year, but he's only ranked 12th among active players on Friday night in the category.

Inside the top 12 players, Wes, our PIM pool leader, has six of those players, which is why he leads the pool to this point in the season.  Even his scorers are goons.  Tonight, he will see Cody McLeod and Gabriel Landeskog of the Avalanche, Jordin Tootoo of the Devils, Mike Ribeiro and James Neal of the Predators and Ryan Kesler of the Ducks, all taking the ice tonight and hopefully spending some time in the box, feeling shame.

There isn't going to be a lot of push back from the rest of the pool, unless some unassuming player goes postal in a game, much like Thornton did last night.  Wes now has a 33-minute lead after Thursday night, while Dale B. and Derek & Dan are separated by 8 minutes.  Dale B. has one hope to keep pace in Scott Hartnell of the Blue Jackets, but the pool's third duo doesn't have a prayer tonight.
