The Canucks avoided more trade rumours, as Alexandre Burrows was signed to a 4-year, $8 million contract extension on Tuesday night. The Box 7 forward in the Sheet pool has had a great season for the Canucks, scoring 16 goals and 17 assists in 62 games before playing against Minnesota on Tuesday night. The deal is also a huge bargain for the Canucks, as they have now lifted their 2009/'10 cap hit to a mere $33.2 million for only 11 players signed. Burrows joins a talented core of players, but there are a number of UFA's heading into the summer to deal with, so concerns are there.

| Pavol Demitra | Alex Edler | |
| Alex Burrows | Willie Mitchell | |
| Mason Raymond | Sami Salo | |

| Ryan Johnson |
There are a number of RFAs to deal with as well, plus you could add Cory Schneider to the table as well and his $1.084 million hit, but for now, this is the core of the team which is signed for the $33.2 million. Not a lot, but what is there isn't too bad.
