The Penguins land another top six winger for Crosby & Malkin by getting Bill Guerin from the Islanders for a conditional draft pick.

Conditional Draft Pick |
A conditional pick (3rd through 5th are the possibilities) for a proven veteran winger like Bill Guerin looks pretty good on paper, but the arguments of San Jose's rental failure of Guerin still linger. Guerin will have the shot of earning a spot with a talented centre on whichever line he ends up playing on, which should mean good things... in theory.
In the pool, Dale B. gets the benefit of getting a player that moves to an offensively gifted team. The potential is there for good things through the last 20 games of the year, but sadly for Dale, he finds himself too far back for it to make a big difference in his standings overall.
