The addition of Olli Jokinen couldn't come at a better time for the Flames, as they have suffered yet another injury setback this week. Todd Bertuzzi has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery and will now be out of the line-up for upwards of four weeks, having him back in time for the last few games of the regular season. The team is already without Rene Bourque and Mark Giordano, both out for a number of weeks still.
Bertuzzi being out will definitely hurt Benson's chance in the Draft, since he only sits 19 points out of the money, but a major scoring loss like Bertuzzi will hinder those chances severely. This season, Bertuzzi has 15 goals and 28 assists in 57 games, scoring at a 0.75 ppg pace. Not a bad investment for the Flames this year, as they hope he can return to help the team's playoff run.
