The Flames have bolstered the blueline with a deal with the Avalanche that saw the Flames acquire Jordan Leopold for their most recent waiver claim, Lawrence Nycholat, a prospect and a draft pick. This opens up a lot of discussion in Calgary, as they are in play for Olli Jokinen.

Undisclosed Draft Pick |
In the pool, this deal doesn't have much of an effect in the Draft, but Leopold does sit in Box 14 on the Sheet. Not much of a big impact player with Trevor Daley having such a good season in Dallas. Leopold does go to a better offensive system, so that may make him more attractive, if a Sheet team wants to move their current Box 14 defenseman.
Overall, this deal does open up the door to a lot more conversation about trade rumours, which could include Leopold going out right away or another big defenseman.
