The San Jose Sharks announced today that they will be leaving both Evgeni Nabokov and Rob Blake at home, while they go out on a 2-game road trip this week. Nabokov has already been out of the line-up, as he's been nursing a lower body injury and Brian Boucher has taken over the starting role while he has been out of the line-up. Blake was hit in the foot by a teammate's shot in their game against Vancouver on Saturday and did not return to the game afterward.
The Sharks will be in Minnesota on Tuesday and St. Louis on Thursday, before returning home to play Los Angeles on Saturday.
Nabokov holds the biggest impact in the Draft, as he his a Draft pick of John B.'s, who had lost his lead last week to Jeremy. With Nabokov hurt and Manny Legace in the minors, John doesn't have an active goaltender in the Draft as we speak. The loss of Nabokov is huge, as he's 9th in pool scoring with 74 points and is John's best player this season.
Blake, on the other hand, is a Draft pick of Chris', who is sitting a way down in 13th position, well out of the money this season. Blake's injury situation isn't 100% clear, as they haven't announced whether or not he'll miss any more time than the 2-game road trip, but anything else will be reported on, if it is more severe.
