Goalie Announcements (Feb 10)

Neil still leads the Mover & Shaker category this week with 25 points, heading into Saturday's action, followed closely by Benson's team at 24 points, Wilton and Stacey C.'s teams at 23 points and then Brenda & Seward and Steve's team at 22 points... that's your top five teams, plus a tie, heading into a busy couple of days on the NHL schedule.

Today is also the Olympic draft, so there might not be very many updates tonight and it could be a slow go tomorrow as well.  Just a heads up there.

Let's see, out of these six teams, have some action tonight... all games going in the evening, hence the late post.

Darcy Kuemper (Neil) versus Andrei Vasilevskiy (Wilton)
This has some potential to be a pretty good headlining game, but Darcy Kuemper hasn't exactly been confirmed for this one quite yet, but since the Kings played last night, going with Jonathan Quick in that one, there is a fair chance that Kuemper goes tonight in Tampa.  If Kuemper goes tonight, it makes for a top notch Mover & Shaker game, as Wilton's team is only 2 points back and Andrei Vasilevskiy has been confirmed to go for the league's top team... the pool's top goalie is ready to pick up 2 more points.

Benson's team is without a goalie today, so he gets skipped over. That was Wilton's only start above, so that makes it pretty easy as well.

Semyon Varlamov (Stacey C.) versus Cam Ward (Stacey M.)
Next, we move down the list to Stacey C.'s team and he gets the first of two starts in Carolina tonight, where the Avalanche are set to take on the Hurricanes.  It's projected battle of the Stacey's in this one, as Campbell will get Semyon Varlamov for the Avalanche and McDonald will have Cam Ward for the Hurricanes, who played the night before.  This is definitely an interesting game, as the Avalanche are playing well and the Hurricanes are trying to bounce back.

Brian Elliott (Stacey C.) versus Antti Raanta (Ryan)
It is expected that Stacey C. will get a second start in Arizona tonight, as his other goalie is also on the road, Philadelphia's Brian Elliott.  At the time of writing this post, he hadn't quite been confirmed yet, but it seem safe to assume that he will go tonight.  The Coyotes have really struggled this season, so this could be a good way to get another 2 points and really put the pressure on Neil's team at the top of the weekly scoring standings.

Jeff Glass (N/A) versus Devan Dubnyk (Brenda & Seward)
The pool's second duo are in the hunt this week and their number one goalie gets a crack at the Central Division's worst team, as Devan Dubnyk of the Wild should get the start against the Chicago Blackhawks tonight.  Dubnyk has been very solid this season and has some 2nd round type numbers to this point in the year, which should bode well against a struggling Hawks team that can't seem to find its way these days.

Al Montoya (N/A) versus Aaron Dell (Steve)
The San Jose Sharks are on back-to-back nights, which means that Steve might be able to get a start in one of the two and between the Oilers and the Ducks, I would lean towards Dell getting the lesser of the two opponents, the Oilers.  Dell has played exceptionally well this year, so it shouldn't matter who he faces, but I'm sure Steve would like the lesser of two opponents, as his team tries to figure its way out of the pool basement.
