Goalie Announcements (Feb 18)
A very early start in the NHL on Sunday means that there will be plenty of speculation in the starting goalie department, so you might have to bear with some extreme guessing here today.
The Mover & Shaker race did take a turn in Chris' favour, as his team, including his goalie yesterday, really turned it on and took the lead, now with 40 points, heading into Sunday. Stuart now trails Chris' team by 2 points, while Benson is 5 points back and Clayton is 7 points. Troy's team didn't find many points on Saturday and now trails by 11, so that might be a little too far to note this morning.
Seven games on the docket today, but only two have any bearing on the Mover & Shaker race, so let's have a look.
Ben Bishop (Kristy & Don) versus Martin Jones (Chris)
Although not confirmed early on in the morning, it does seem very likely that Martin Jones gets the net for the San Jose Sharks tonight, giving Chris the opportunity to defend his Mover & Shaker position in one of the later games this evening. The Sharks are hosting the Dallas Stars, who have confirmed that Ben Bishop gets the nod, giving Kristy & Don a chance to defend their position in the standings from the hard-charging team that belongs to Chris. Chris' team starts the day only 8 points back of the duo.
Keith Kinkaid (Stuart) versus Cam Ward (Stacey M.)
This could have been an all-Mover & Shaker type game, but the Carolina Hurricanes are likely, although not confirmed, going back to Cam Ward tonight, keeping Clayton's goalie, Scott Darling, on the bench as a backup. Stacey M.'s 11th place team probably gets another start here instead. Stuart, however, has already had his goaltender confirmed for this game, which goes in the afternoon, early enough to really put pressure on Chris' team, from the crease perspective. Keith Kinkaid gets the nod for the Devils, a team that took a win out of Tampa Bay yesterday.
