Preds' Forsberg Suspended
The Nashville Predators and New York Rangers game on Saturday was a rough one and from it, came a phone call from the Department of Player Safety. The picked out Predators forward Filip Forsberg for his late and high hit on Jimmy Vesey, suspending him for three games for his actions. The video below has all of the details on the suspension.
The Predators are just about to start a 4-game road trip this week, which means Forsberg will miss three of those four games, at Long Island, at Toronto and at Ottawa, some games that could be quite difficult to pick up points as it is, without one of the team's top scorers.
The Swede has 38 points in 38 games this season for Benson's team, ranked 78th in pool scoring this season, after Sunday afternoon's action. Forsberg has already missed some time, due to injury, which has kept his numbers down this season, not quite at the production level of the 61st overall pick that Benson had taken him at, but I don't think Benson is going to complain, finishing the week in 3rd place. This suspension, however, will be a bit of a speed bump on his season, trying to compete for 1st place.
