Golden Knights Place Subban on IR
The Vegas Golden Knights placed goaltender Malcolm Subban on the Injured Reserve for the second time this season, but this time it is with an upper-body injury. There's no word on the kind of injury that Subban has suffered, nor has the team informed us of when it happened, but we can surmise that it was fairly recently, because he was only missing out of practice since yesterday.
We'll have him on since the 9th, thinking that he would be eligible to return on the 16th.
With that being said, Marc-Andre Fleury has been running with the starts as of late, but the schedule will come into question again here soon, I'm sure, as soon as the end of the month.
Subban has been good this year, posting 11 wins in 16 appearances and has been good for 22 points, which isn't too bad. He currently ranks 37th among all goalies in hockey pool scoring, which isn't too bad at all.
For Wilton, however, his team is trying to claw its way back into the money spots and has made some headway this week, but not only is it trying to climb up, it's trying to defend from the teams below his as well. His team opens Sunday in 4th place, 29 points out of 3rd and only 1 point up on 5th. Losing Subban might not hurt him too badly, as the Golden Knights are on every other night for another couple weeks, so he might not miss out on starts, but there could be one or two there somewhere, which is points out the door. Wilton will need the rest of his team to pick it up.
