Hasek to Get Some Rest

The Detroit Red Wings announced on Monday that Dominik Hasek (John B.) will be out of the line-up on a day-to-day basis to rest his inflammed hip that he has been nursing all season. Hasek will be given a few days away from games and practices to rest up and be ready for the stretch drive. A formula that has worked so far, as he's already rested once this season and has done very well in the games he has been active for.

This will open the door for Chris Osgood (Dale C.) to get a few more starts in this week and they have called up Jimmy Howard (non-pool) to back him up.

The team also announced that they have placed Niklas Kronwall (Dennis) on the Injured Reserve retroactive to last week because of a shoulder injury. He is going to miss at least another week, possibly two.
