On the days leading up to the trade deadline, it does shock me a little bit to be reporting on some deals by way of contract extensions. Trent Hunter (Box 20) signed a 5-year, $10 million extension on Friday, which is a good reward for such a hard working player.Hunter has 31 points (8G, 23A) in 62 games this season for the Islanders. He's been one of the more consistent players for the team and has been indentified by the team as a good cog for the machine in the near future.
