Huet Shipped to Washington

Shock horror! Cristobel Huet (Stuart) has been dealt to Washington for a 2nd round pick this summer. This was a trade that no one really saw coming, so we'll be taking the analysis a little more carefully.

The Capitals now earned themselves a goaltending controversy by adding Huet to the mix and Stuart may have lost a few minutes to Olaf Kolzig (Dennis). That is the largest pool impact, but that is yet to be seen.

The Canadiens may have to hand the reins to Carey Price (Marcus) now and call up Jaroslav Halak (Box 24) to be his back-up. This could mean some big minutes and more than likely some big points for Price, which is obviously too little, too late for Marcus, but it does give everyone an idea of what Price will be like for next season... as if we needed any more convincing.

The Capitals managed to snake a number one goalie away from the Habs for a reasonably cheap pick, but it does make for that controversy, which may be worth more than they were bargaining for. The Capitals may not be done yet...
