Flyers Shut Down Gagne

It doesn't look like the Flyers want to leave the front page of the news any time soon. Instead of a trade, however, it's a medical decision that splashes across the screen and creates a headline on the ticker.

Well, the bad news is that Simon Gagne (Peter) will not be returning to the Flyers line-up this season. After suffering his third concussion this season, Gagne has been ordered by the team's medical staff to shut it down for the rest of the season.

The team will now be without one of the flashier forwards for the remaining 22 games. Gagne finished his season with 18 points (7G, 11A) in only 25 games. Not a bad scoring pace, despite not being 100% through a good portion of those games.

Will this injury mean that the Flyers will be a bigger player in the deadline deals... moreso than they already have been?
