After naming him to their Traverse City rookie team roster, the Blue Jackets showed that they are serious about their 4th overall pick from this Summer's Entry Draft, Ryan Johansen, by signing him to the standard 3-year entry-level deal on Thursday.
Johansen was touted as a 1st round pick this Summer, but the Blue Jackets decided to go off the suggested path with this pick and now they are keen to show off why they like him so much. The kid already has some good size and had some great numbers with Portland in the WHL last season, so I think he'll be given every opportunity and might be a bit of a dark horse for the Calder.
