According to a tweet this morning, New Jersey Devils defenseman Anssi Salmela is running behind in his recovery time from off-season knee surgery to repair a torn MCL and meniscus. The tweet quotes him as being a couple of months behind and now a listing has him back for mid-November, which suggests that he should have been ready to go for training camp.
In 2010, Salmela only had 8 points in 38 games for the Devils, but was likely going to slot in as the 6th or 7th defenseman this season, possibly giving him more time to play. It seems unlikely that he was going to be picked in the draft, but he is going to be a roster player, so it's post-worthy.
