Coyotes Set Their Rookie Camp Roster

The Coyotes also announced their roster for their mini rookie camp on Wednesday. These guys will have their own camp, but will only get in two games against the rookies from the Los Angeles Kings in a minor exhibition.  The Coyotes are already rounding out their line-up with a good number of veterans, but as you can see from how the roster is shaping up at the moment, spots are still available and I think there are a few names on the youth roster that might get some extra consideration for them.

I think it would be hard not to start with the blueliners on this list, since the Coyotes have sorted their players by jersey numbers and both Oliver Ekman-Larsson (#23) and Brandon Gormley (#36) have good NHL numbers to start this camp with. Both players will likely get some hard looks at both the rookie and main camps, while Colin Long is the only real standout from the group of forwards here.

The Coyotes real depth is going to be coming from some of the talent that was in the AHL last year and may be considered too old to work out in the rookie camp.  Like most teams that I've already had a piece on, the training camp rosters are going to be where the real magic happens.  These rookie camp rosters are only good for references down the line.
