The New York Rangers are keeping their options open with some different faces getting invites into their training camp this Fall. The Rangers have added forward Ruslan Fedotenko and defenseman Garnet Exelby on tryouts this past week. Fedotenko had 30 points in 80 games for the Penguins in 2010, while Exelby had 4 points in 51 games for the Maple Leafs.
The Rangers don't have a great deal of room to spare for some new faces, but they might be in need of some cheap help to get through some cap woes. If either of these players get signed, I would expect them to be very frugal numbers against the cap.
