Scary moment on Saturday night when Sergei Samsonov was tripped by Dustin Byfuglien and fell head first into the boards. Samsonov had to be taken off the ice in a stretcher and taken to hospital for precautionary testing, but was able to be released from hospital later on that night and headed back to Raleigh with the team. The immediate word is that he has suffered a strained neck, but there is no timetable for a return at the moment.
