Managed to get a bit of news from Saturday morning/afternoon on the blog, as Patrik Elias has been scratched from the Devils line-up, as they took on the Flyers in a matinee game. Elias left the line-up due to personal reasons and is considered to be day-to-day for whatever reason he is away for.
In 23 games for the Devils, Elias has 3 goals and 11 assists, which has been somewhat disappointing, along with the rest of the Devils offense. Wes, who sits in 18th place this year, has felt that power outage in the worst way.
The Canucks were without the services of Kevin Bieksa on Friday night, as he has been dealing with a bad bout of the flu. Bieksa hasn't been on the ice for a few days by the sounds of things, but the Canucks do not play again until Wednesday night, so there should be some expectation of Bieksa being back for that contest.
In 21 games this season, Bieksa hasn't been quite the offensive force, scoring 1 goal and adding 3 assists, way down from previous seasons, when healthy. Bieksa belongs to Stacey in the draft, who currently sits 15th.
Finally, the tribulations of Tomas Fleischmann continues with the Capitals this season, as he was scratched for his second game of the season on Friday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Capitals won 6-0 as well, which doesn't bode well for Fleischmann's possible return to the line-up, if the team wins like that.
Fleischmann has been scoring less than half a point-per-game this season, 10 points in 22 games for the Capitals, which has been one of many reasons why Clayton's draft team is now sitting in last place in the standings.
