It hasn't been the easiest of starts for the Islanders' Rob Schremp, who found himself as a healthy scratch on Wednesday night, as his mates took on the Ducks in Anaheim. Schremp had to battle through a few weeks of a back injury before he could even jump into the line-up and since he has been declared healthy, he has only 1 assist and a -5 rating in 3 games. The Islanders go again on Thursday night in San Jose, so it will be interesting to see if the Islanders are going to put him in against a very deep and potent offense.
I think I know where Neil was coming from when he selected Schremp in the draft this year. The Islanders, going into the season, were on the verge of breaking out with a number of their stars like John Tavares, Kyle Okposo and Josh Bailey, but it wasn't until around draft day when it all started to crumble, a week before the season started. Injuries to key players have really slowed the development on Long Island and Schremp was a victim of the injury bug, just before the season started, so it really is a bad combination of luck for Neil. Thankfully, he is only 9 points out of the money in 10th place and there is lots of hockey still to play.
