A minor foot injury kept Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman out of the team's game against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night, but x-rays on his foot have shown that there is no major damage, so he will be considered out day-to-day, likely with some possibility that he would be able to go Saturday night in San Jose.
In 11 games with Tampa this season, Hedman has already picked up 6 assists, a decent scoring rate for the sophomore defenseman, who finished with only 20 points in 74 games in 2010. Hedman is projected to be a pretty good defenseman, especially since he was drafted 2nd overall behind John Tavares in 2009. A minor foot injury shouldn't do anything to curb that kind of growth, just overall numbers at the end of the year.
Since this is only considered to be a minor injury, I don't think our current pool leader, Allan, is going to sweat this injury out... for too long anyways. Hedman is turning out to be quite the talent in the league and with his current scoring pace, he's surely going to outscore his rookie season, which I think most were expecting. It's very minor and I think we'll leave it at that.
