The Ducks were without their number one defenseman on Saturday night, but fortunately for them, their scoring really didn't miss a beat. Lubomir Visnovsky did miss out on a pretty good night to try and get points though, the Ducks scoring six goals, as he sat out with back spasms. Visnovsky's back spasms are not thought to be serious and listing him as out day-to-day is fairly reasonable. I have not seen an actual timetable, but 'not a major concern' should be telling enough.
Visnovsky has been pretty good this season for the Ducks, scoring 3 goals and adding 15 assists in 24 games, giving him a pretty good scoring pace for the year. Missing out on the team's big night of offense has to sting a little bit, since he is one of those players that gets lots of touches on the puck, which usually translates into assists during the season.
It doesn't look like Chris M. missed Visnovsky too much, however, he picked up enough points to get a 5-point lead with one week to go before the first segment of the season ends, meaning jersey prize! Chris is the draft leader through Saturday's action and only has one player game remaining this week. Chris would probably feel better if Visnovsky was in the Ducks' line-up in Week Nine, just to make sure he nails down his early season prize.
