The word on Patrick Kane's injury, which he suffered this weekend against the Flames, is that he is likely to miss around three weeks worth of action and that's being on the long side of the equation. The Blackhawks don't expect Kane to miss much more time than three weeks with his leg injury, but even at this point in the season, that could be a fair bit for the team.
Kane has been having another one of his great seasons already, scoring 11 goals and 16 assists in the first 28 games of the season, scoring at nearly a point-per-game, with plenty of potential to hit that mark again with another 2-point game, so his scoring production will definitely be missed. In three full weeks of time away, Kane could potentially miss nine games to the injury, ten games if they decide to keep him out until the New Year.
At a point-per-game pace, give or take a point or two for the human element, Kane is going to leave a 10-point hole in John P.'s draft team, which is currently sitting in 14th place, the last team in the middle pack of the standings. John is only 4 points out of the top 10, but still 23 points out of the money and now he is losing his 1st round pick (15th overall) to a 3-week layoff. This is pretty bad news, coming at a pretty bad time.
