Well, I didn't think something like this was going to happen, but I am almost glad that I was wrong, just for the sheer sake of entertainment purposes. With Marek Svatos having to clear waivers before joining the St. Louis Blues' roster after signing on Tuesday, I thought it was just going to be a formality. Well, the 1-year, two-way deal that Svatos signed with the Blues was either attractive to the Predators as a straight deal or it was a clever ploy by a division rival to keep their opponent from upgrading their current offensive situation.
With the Predators injury problems growing, more offense shouldn't be turned down in any case and the smaller cap hit had to be attractive to the team, when compared to a player like Brian Rolston, who would still be more than twice the cap hit of Svatos.
Svatos should be able to join the Predators team right away, but I would think for chemistry reasons, he would want to practice once or twice with the team before jumping into the gameday line-up.
