A return to the blog posts for Daniel Carcillo, as he made his way back up to the press box on Tuesday night, as the Flyers took on the Canucks in Vancouver. Carcillo has been used sparingly through the season, rarely coming off the news page at the end of the week, but he did make it off on Sunday, only to be put back on. The Box 23 forward doesn't have much fantasy value this season.
I think I kind of missed the boat on this injury post for Taylor Pyatt, as the Box 8 forward was on the receiving end of a Derek Engelland punch last week and hasn't been right since. I think the general fear is that he suffered a concussion from the fight and his return to the line-up is now undetermined for the most part. I don't think he has much value for the rest of the season.
An injury update on Box 23 forward Mike Comrie, as he underwent hip surgery this week and will now be out of the line-up for upwards of four months, likely having a possible return date of late April, just around the start of the playoffs. Comrie has not seen a great deal of time in the line-up this year and this surgery guarantees that his fantasy value in the regular season will stay as low as it is right now.
Box 28 defenseman Randy Jones suffered an upper-body injury on Sunday night against Atlanta, forcing him out of that game and ending up missing Tuesday night's game against the Bruins. I don't have much more information than that at the moment, but we'll have to consider him day-to-day for the moment. The Lightning are firmly in the playoff mix, so they'll be tight-lipped about injuries now.
The season continues to be a struggle with the big club for Nazem Kadri, as the Box 25 forward was a healthy scratch again on Tuesday night, as the Leafs took on the Hurricanes. Kadri has consistently found his way to the press box this season and cannot seem to string together many games in a row to change his outlook. I'm beginning to wonder if we'll see him back in the minors before too long.
A nagging injury has been the bane of Marcus Johansson's season in Washington, as he has been struggling to string together a number of games of late. The supposed injury was enough to keep him out of the Capitals' line-up on Tuesday versus the Canadiens. It's hard to gauge what the injury may or may not be or how long it will take to get him back into the line-up.
