It's bad news out of Denver tonight. Both of their newest injuries are still going to be listed as out indefinitely, but one is certainly going to be out longer than the other. This is looming over their heads at a very inopportune time.
It turns out that Marek Svatos (Stuart) will now miss the remainder of the season because he has a torn MCL in his knee, which will require surgery and will extend his rehab process by quite some time. It was a pretty nasty spill that sent Svatos into the boards awkwardly, but of course, not as violent as his teammate, Ryan Smyth's (Dennis) hit he took in the same game.
Smyth will also be out an indefinite period of time, thanks to a concussion and a slight separation of his shoulder. The concussion syndromes will keep him from working out until they clear, while the shoulder injury should heal within a week or two. It will be the concussion that should keep him out of the line-up for some time now.
These injuries are added to Brett Clark's (Don) injury which will keep him out of the line-up for the rest of the season as well. Good thing they've picked up Peter Forsberg (Wes), Adam Foote (Box 10) and Ruslan Salei (Don).
