Well, the trade for Brad Stuart (Box 11) looks like a gamble that went the wrong way. Stuart suffered a broken finger when blocking a shot in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jackets.
The finger has a non-displaced fracture, which will now keep the veteran blueliner out of the line-up for the remainder of the season and the playoffs. The Red Wings gave up two draft picks to the Kings for the defenseman in order to have the relative amount of firepower at the back end that a team like the Ducks has at the moment.
On the Sheet pool, there are six teams now without a defender in Box 11, but it's only for another couple weeks. Stuart finished the season with 23 points (6G, 17A) in 72 games with Los Angeles and Detroit.
Stuart was also slated to be on the Playoff Pool sheet, but since the Sheet hasn't been released (released tomorrow!), he'll be swapped out for Brett Lebda.
