The Avalanche are having even more injury problems this week and they are now extended to their new faces in the line-up.
The injury fears of Peter Forsberg (Wes) are seemingly coming to fruition. This time, however, his groin is acting up. Forsberg has now missed the Avs' last two games with his groin injury. Since Forsberg hasn't been 100% this year, it isn't too surprising that if he decided to all of a sudden play like he's 100%, he'll probably tweak his groin. He'll remain on the shelf on a day-to-day basis, which could hurt the playoff run for the Avalanche.
Trade deadline acquisition, Ruslan Salei (Don), left Sunday's game with an eye injury, which caused him to miss Tuesday's game as well. Salei went back to Denver from Dallas to have his injury looked at even more. The extent of the injury is still unknown, but it should be released before tonight's game, at home to Edmonton.
Still being scratched on a regular basis (it seems), Wojtek Wolski (Dale C.) missed Tuesday's game from the press box. There must be a fair amount of disappointment in the young forward.
On the bright side, Ryan Smyth (Dennis) is now moving to the day-to-day status, as he's getting close to returning to the line-up. Smyth has reportedly returned to practice, but still is questionable for tonight's game against the Oilers.
