Both Mats Sundin (John P.) and Nikolai Antropov (Ryan) were on the shelf for the Leafs as they beat the Islanders last night to move six points out of the playoff race.
Sundin had an MRI over the weekend and it revealed a small tear in his groin, which coach Maurice explained that he will likely miss at least a week to 10 days with the injury. Depending on how the next games against the Sabres and Senators go this week, Sundin may or may not be rushed back to help their push towards the playoffs.
Antropov suffered a knee injury over the weekend, which should keep him out of the line-up for the remainder of the week. There is some hope that he could be back for Saturday's game in Ottawa, but the likelihood just doesn't seem to be positive. Again, if the Leafs are still in striking distance of the playoffs, they may want to rush him back.
