Well, just as he came back from his wrist injury, Brendan Morrison (Box 9) has now gone on the injured list, yet again, but this time with a torn ACL, which will keep him out of any more hockey activity until training camp next season.
Morrison suffered the injury in the game against Colorado on Wednesday night after falling awkwardly into the end boards on a seemingly harmless play. Morrison had already missed 38 games with his wrist injury between December and early-March and had only played in nine games since returning.
This is a pretty big blow to the Canucks depth chart, as Mason Raymond (non-pool) is already on the injured list with a sprained MCL and their defensive depth has been comprimised with the losses of Mattias Ohlund (Dale B.) and Aaron Miller (non-pool).
The Canucks are in Minnesota on Friday night and they will also likely be without their number one goalie, Roberto Luongo (John B.), as he is away attending to his wife in Florida, who is having their first child. The Canucks are in a must-win situation to keep their playoff hopes alive. Curtis Sanford (Box 12) will make his 15th appearance this season for the Canucks.
